Logo Setup & Artwork

You've Got the Logo. I'll Help with the Rest.
Already have a company logo but have absolutely no idea whether it's suitable for
embroidery or printing?
You're certainly not alone.

At The Uniform Guy, I'll help make sure your branding is prepared correctly before it
goes anywhere near your clothing.
Simply send me what you've got.
I'll take it from there.

Getting Your Logo Ready for Clothing
A logo that looks great on a website or business card doesn't always automatically
work on clothing.
Different branding techniques require artwork to be prepared in different ways.
For example, an embroidered logo needs to be converted into a specialist
embroidery file that tells the embroidery machinery where every stitch needs to go.
Printed logos may require high-resolution artwork or suitable digital files to produce
the best possible result.

You don't need to worry about the technical side.
That's what I'm here for.
Send Me Your Existing Logo
If you already have your logo, send over the best version you have.
Ideally this might be:
● PDF
● EPS
● AI
● SVG
● High-resolution PNG
● High-resolution JPEG
But don't worry if all you have is a logo taken from an email, website or old piece of
artwork.

Send it over and I'll see what can be done.
Logo Setup for Embroidery
Before your logo can be embroidered, it needs to be digitised.
Digitising is the process of converting the artwork into instructions that an embroidery
machine can understand.

This determines things such as:
● Stitch direction
● Stitch density
● Thread colours
● Detail
● Finished size
● Overall appearance

A properly prepared embroidery file can make a huge difference to the finished
garment.
Artwork for Printing
Printed branding has different artwork requirements.

Depending on the design and printing method, good-quality artwork helps ensure:
● Clean edges
● Accurate colours
● Sharp text
● Clear details
● Professional results

If your artwork isn't suitable, I'll let you know what needs to be changed.
What If My Logo Is Poor Quality?
Don't panic.
This happens all the time.

You may only have:
● An old JPEG
● A screenshot
● An image from your website

● A logo from an email signature
● Artwork created years ago
● A photo of existing clothing
Send it to me anyway.
In many cases, artwork can be recreated or cleaned up so that it's suitable for
production.
What About Colours?
Consistency matters.
If your logo uses specific company colours, I'll work with the available branding
options to get as close as reasonably possible.
For embroidery, thread colours can be matched to your branding.
For printing, colours can be reproduced according to the printing process being
used.

What Size Should My Logo Be?
This depends on the garment, position and shape of your logo.
A logo that looks perfect on the left chest of a polo may need to be a completely
different size when placed across the back of a jacket.
I'll advise on suitable sizing rather than simply making every logo the same size.
Can I Add Names and Job Titles?
Absolutely.

Alongside your main company logo, we can also look at adding:
● Staff names
● Initials
● Job titles
● Departments
● Branch names
● Sponsor logos
● Websites
● Telephone numbers
This allows you to create clothing that's personalised for individual members of your
team.
